Biography
Dr. Pavel Hobza, dr.h.c., FRSC is Distinguished Chair at Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague. He received his PhD (1974) from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. His research team works on noncovalent interactions and their applications in bio- and material sciences, databases of accurate interaction energies and on In silico drug design. He has co-authored 4 books, more than 450 papers and 35 review papers in peer-reviewed journals, his H-index (WOS) is 98, Sum of Times Cited is more than 35 000. He was awarded by “Highly Cited Researcher†in chemistry in 2014 – 2016 (Thomson Reuters, later Clarivate Analytics) and Schrödinger Medal in 2017 (World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists).
Research Interest
Quantum chemistry and computational chemistry, non-covalent interactions, structure and dynamics of molecular and biomolecular clusters and biomolecules, hydrogen-bonding and improper, blue-shifting hydrogen-bonding, halogen bonding, drug design.
